LEGO plans to open a temporary store at Buckland Hills Mall in Manchester, a job description on LEGO’s website confirms.

LEGO plans to open their new store in the former Belden’s Jewelry storefront on the first floor of the mall. Belden’s closed earlier this year and the site has been under construction since. LEGO has started to hire employees for the store.

The store is part of an upcoming holiday strategy by LEGO, seemingly to get products to consumers following the collapse of Toys R Us.
LEGO will open the new store in late September. LEGO would not give a time-frame for how long the store would remain open; but since the store is part of an upcoming holiday strategy, the store will most likely last through the Christmas season.

'It is unlikely that LEGO is opening a new permanent store at the Buckland Hills Mall, at least not in time for the Christmas season. Therefore the job position will be a seasonal storefront.' -A statement from a LEGO Rep.

LEGO has a some presence in Connecticut, LEGO has a headquarters in Enfield, a store in Farmington, and a store in Danbury. LEGO was founded in Denmark in 1932, expanding into Europe and into the US. LEGO has surpassed both HASBRO and Mattel, becoming the world's largest toy company.

LEGO joins a growing list of new stores coming to the Mall including Mint Rags, 208 Foot Spa, Goofy Turtle, Curly Star, and Cricket Wireless. Another new brand coming to Buckland Hills is BJ’s Brewhouse, which received approvals Tuesday to construct a restaurant across from Red Robin.
