Farmington Bank will close their Vernon and Manchester branches along with a dozen other locations.
These closures are the result of the recent merger with People’s United Bank, which has locations nearby. The majority of the closures are branches under the Farmington Bank umbrella. Farmington Bank branches in East Hartford and Farmington will also be closing, The Farmington Bank branch in South Windsor will remain open.
The Manchester branch that is scheduled for closure opened this summer, the site was formerly a dry cleaners. The Vernon location opened a little more than two years ago, and the site was formerly home to Blockbuster. Both locations had long-term leases on their buildings.
The closures will take place in late January. Remaining Farmington Bank branches will be rebranded as People's United Bank.
